Over a Century Of History. Still intact

For this project, we were tasked with completing tree removal and pruning services within the Weir Farm National Historical Park Area, covering over 60+ acres. This project focused on the cutting, removal, and trimming of hazardous trees along the park trails and surrounding public areas. Additionally, we were also tasked to maintain the surrounding vegetation and overhanging canopies that were impacting trails throughout the park. Throughout the nine months, our team coordinated directly with NPS personnel to execute tree removals while protecting stonewalls, earthworks, and historical features critical to the site’s cultural significance.

The scope spanned three categories of service: tree removal in maintained areas (mowed lawns and manicured grounds), tree removal in unmaintained areas (forested trails and natural woodland), and hazardous tree pruning (dead limbs over trails, picnic areas, and buildings). All work was performed under ISA-certified arborist supervision with strict adherence to NPS historic preservation protocols.

Certified Arborists. Five lines of responsibility.

Our team consisted of ISA-certified arborists, specialized tree crews, and historic preservation specialists. Responsibilities included:

Removing 15+ hazardous trees from maintained lawn areas, cutting stumps flush to grade, and clearing all debris from park property

Felling 3+ trees in unmaintained forested areas and removing all trail obstructions

Pruning 9+ hazardous trees, eliminating dead limbs hanging over trails, picnic tables, and historic structures

Chipping and distributing debris on-site per NPS specifications, utilizing chip truckloads for trail maintenance and ground coverage

Coordinating daily operations with the NPS Site Manager to protect stonewalls, earthworks, and ornamental plantings from equipment impact

Built for federal scope.
